The 2007-2008 Ethics
Committee
The MSCA Ethics Committee's
main purpose is
to educate the membership and school counselors
in general regarding sound ethical practices.
Committee activities include writing articles
for the Ethics Corner for each issue of the MSCA
School Counselor newsletter, presentations on
ethical issues for school counselors as
requested, writing for publication on ethics
issues, monitoring and providing input on
proposed changes in the ASCA Ethical Standards
for School Counselors, encouraging distribution
and education of the model informed consent
brochure for school counselors, and process
inquiries about ethical issues for school
counselors. The Ethics Committee meets in
connection with the MSCA Conference at a
minimum. Communication is generally carried out
via email, phone, and mail. Those interested in
being members of the Ethics Committee should
contact Jim Whitledge or Terri Pardee.
