Ethical Standards
Codes of ethics for professional school counselors can often provide guidelines for sound ethical behavior and answers when one may be faced with an ethical dilemma. MSCA has formally adopted the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Ethical Standards for School Counselors as its code of ethics.  School counselors will benefit by linking to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the American Counseling Association as well.

MSCA Ethics Chairs  Ethical inquiries should be directed to the Ethics Committee Co-Chairs, Jim Whitledge and Terri Pardee, at jim.whitledge @oakland.k12.mi.us  and tpardee@arbor.edu, respectively. Jim and/or Terri will address the inquiry directly or send it to the committee members for review and an overall committee response.
